History and Community Involvement

Our Story

Melody Motors first started selling vehicles in Northeast Saskatchewan as a humble International/Rambler dealership in June 1961, from there several partners joined to sell the International and Rambler lineups. In 1964, they began to sell the Mercury brand, following up with the Ford lineup soon after, and they haven’t looked back since.

Continued growth led to an expansion of the downtown location at 115 Burrows Avenue East, from 4 lots to over 12, and partner Mike Madraga began to buy out his partners until he became the sole owner. Following a fire in 1982 that destroyed the main dealership, management decided to rebuild on the same property, leading to another 30 years of growth and community involvement. Over time, Melody Motors outgrew its downtown location with more space for both its dealership and many community initiatives. After consulting with both staff and loyal customers and scouting countless other locations, Melody Motors built its new location in 2012 at 1560 Saskatchewan Drive.

We welcome you to stop by and take a tour of our great facility. One of our dedicated employees would be happy to show off our state-of-the-art dealership and answer any questions you may have about our vehicles or otherwise; take us up on the offer, and you’ll soon realize why the community of Melfort has proudly supported Melody Motors since 1961.

Our Community

Our incredible growth isn’t solely from providing exceptional quality vehicles and service—it comes from the time spent training and supporting our team, to do the right thing and uphold the Ford Motor Company’s policies, procedures, and most of all, principles.

More importantly, our growth comes from supporting our community and the surrounding areas in different, meaningful ways. Here at Melody Motors, we value our local clubs, organizations, groups, and sports teams. Making our community stronger by enabling its members is one of our core beliefs, and helping others is the strongest way of bringing everyone together.

Melody Motors proudly supports Melfort’s retirement and assisted living centre Parkland Place, through proceeds from the Melody Cafe—simply enjoy a snack or a beverage at the Melody Cafe and you too can contribute to a better quality of life for the residents of Parkland Place! We’re also proud to have made a $20,000 donation to the Melfort Heliport for STARS rescue teams, and another $10,000 for the building of the new facility in St. Brieux. We also support NEOSS, NESPCA, and talented Junior Hockey teams from Saskatchewan like the Melfort Mustangs, Nipawin Hawks, as well as the NE Outback Thunder and Tisdale Trojan Midget AAA teams!
